The Palace of Versailles and Mathieu Lustrerie present a candleholder inspired by the “flambeau du Roy” found in royal residences in the 18th century. The initial model, with its ribs and round scrolled base, was adopted by the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne in the second half of the 18th century, and from 1752 onwards was used in all royal residences. It was equally at home at the table, in the bedroom, at play or in the toilet.

Finely crafted in bronze, this elegant accessory combines tradition and innovation, supporting a battery-powered electric candle.
