This spiral Notepad is part of the complete line of products designed for the Palace of Versailles. The Grand Gallery was used every day as a passageway, a waiting room and a meeting place frequented by courtesans and visitors. Cérémonies were only held here on exceptional occasions, when the sovereigns wanted to give the highest splendour to their diplomatic receptions or entertainment (balls or games) organised for princely weddings.
