The Queen’s “Brocaded” Stole

95,00

This stole was inspired by a brocaded lampas (fabric whose patterns are in relief) with a white background that decorated Marie-Antoinette’s bedroom in the summer.

During the Revolution, the Palace’s furniture was sold at auction. Some pieces were found and others had to be replaced by equivalent pieces. The fabrics that covered the bed and the walls of the Queen’s Bedroom were rewoven in Lyon using the original cards and in keeping with a drawing attributed to Jean-François Bon between 1686 and 1687.
