This T-shirt features the emblem of the Sun King, which can be found in the Palace of Versailles, on tapestries and woodwork.

Louis XIV chose the sun as his emblem. The sun represents Apollo, god of peace and the arts; it is also the star that gives life to all things, that is the very embodiment of regularity, rising and setting. Like the god, Louis XIV, a warrior hero, brought peace; he protected the arts and was the dispenser of all graces. Through the regularity of his work, through his public risings and settings, he marked the resemblance, imprinted in stone. Throughout the Palace of Versailles, the decor combines representations and attributes of the god (laurels, lyre, tripod) with royal portraits and emblems.
