1725 • Native American Allies at the Court of Louis XV - Exhibition poster
9,90 €
This poster is the official poster for the exhibition dedicated to the indigenous societies of the Mississippi Valley in the 18th century.
From November 25, 2025, to May 3, 2026, the exhibition immerses visitors in the world of Native American peoples confronted with French settlement in Louisiana. It highlights the economic, political, and military alliances forged on the banks of the “great river.”
One of the highlights of the exhibition looks back at the exceptional visit to France in 1725 by Oto, Osage, Missouri, and Illinois chiefs, at the request of the Compagnie des Indes and Louis XV. Ancient maps, Native American artifacts preserved at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, and restored works of rare finesse bear witness to these encounters between two worlds, whose echoes still resonate through Rameau’s Les Indes galantes.
