Magnet Hall of Mirrors
4,90 €
The famous Hall of Mirrors has 357 mirrors adorning the 17 arches facing the windows. Known in the past as the Grande Galerie, it was used daily by courtiers and visitors as a place to pass through, wait and meet. Only exceptionally was it used for ceremonial purposes, when sovereigns wished to give the greatest splendor to diplomatic receptions or to entertainments (balls or games) offered on the occasion of princely weddings. The throne was then installed on a platform at the far end of the gallery, on the side of the Salon de la Paix, whose arcade was closed.
This historic piece was restored in 2007.
