King's gallery goblets
The King’s gallery collection presents four goblets in clear crystal, in honor of the four kings who left their mark on Versailles: Louis XIV, Louis XV, Louis XVI and Louis Philippe I invite you to your table for every occasion.
The sizes reflect the artistic and historical inspirations that marked each reign.
The Louis XIV goblet in clear crystal cut with fine, deep bevels, reveals a crown of rays Reminiscent of the Sun King, it reflects a time of festivities, a prestige embodied by the most sparkling of stars.
The Louis XV goblet harbors the Rocaille style distinguishing his reign, being affixed with shells cut with fine bevels in clear crystal. These cuts are also those of the fireworks of an era of celebration and delight.
The Louis XVI goblet in clear crystal is adorned with a crown of wheat sheaves in clear crystal, engraving in fine bevels this souvenir of Antiquity. These rustic ears of corn are also an ode to the bosquets of Versailles, which flourished there with a new freedom, gradually abandoning the model of French gardens to return to a freer nature.
The Louis Philippe goblet is softened by flat ribs in clear crystal and recalls the knights’ helms appearing in the battle gallery this King designed. The neo-medieval style appreciated under his reign then illuminates this goblet imprinted with powerful simplicity.
Queen's Gallery glasses
Four clear crystal glasses, a homage to the four Queens who illuminated Versailles.
The lines evoke those of the King’s gallery goblets. And the various sizes reflect the decorative styles in vogue under each reign, representing a range of Saint-Louis expertise.
These glasses feature short, powerful, ringed legs for optimal ergonomics: ease of use and appropriation, for drinking water or wine. The legs are also adorned with each Queen’s royal monogram and the Palace of Versailles x Saint-Louis seal.
When crystal serves as a pretext for play and the art of conversation: the crown designed by the cut is revealed as you drink, while the identity of the Queen is revealed at the end of the meal, with her number stamped under the foot of the glass.
The Marie Thérèse clear crystal glass cut with deep, fine bevels. The sun’s crown drawn by the bevel cuts recalls those early days of Versailles, a time of festivities and splendor.
Glass Marie Leszczynska in clear crystal cut with fine bevels. The glass patterns evoke both the shells typical of the Rocaille style, and the fireworks of a time of revelry and delight.
Glass Marie Antoinette in clear crystal cut with fine bevels and cords. The cut draws country ears alluding to the Queen’s taste for Antiquity, but also for the free gardens she made bloom at Versailles.
Glass Marie Amélie in clear crystal cut with flat ribs and a beveled bead. The flat ribs adorning Marie Amélie glass are reminiscent of knights’ helmets, a reference to the Salle des Croisades in these new Galeries Historiques of the Palace, to the strength of Marie Amélie’s charitable commitment, and to her taste for the neo-medieval style then in vogue.
Queen's gallery Champagne flutes
After two initial boxes, the Palace of Versailles and Saint-Louis complete this collection with the most festive object on the table: the champagne flute.
In a quatuor, the Queen’s gallery champagne flutes match the designs of the glasses and goblets in the collection.
With their graceful, slender silhouette, they make a feminine statement as you raise a glass to the finer things in life.
True masterpieces, the flutes are meticulously hand-blown by skilled craftsmen, enhancing the natural beauty of crystal.
Each one reveals the initials of the queens and the “Palace of Versailles x Saint-Louis” seal on the bottom of the glass.
