King’s Breakfast Bowl

19,90

This “King’s breakfast bowl” was inspired by the popular saying, “Have a king’s breakfast, a prince’s lunch and a poor man’s dinner”. There is a matching “Queen’s breakfast bowl”.

Louis XIV ate three meals a day. Breakfast, called the “déjeuner”, was at 8.30am and comprised bread and wine cut with water or a broth. The “dîner” was served at 1.00 pm and the “souper” at 10 pm in a heavy, strictly coded ceremony.
