Louis XIV was a great fig lover. Jean-Baptiste La Quintinie, his gardener, therefore planted over seven hundred fig trees of various varieties in the “King’s Vegetable Garden” to satisfy the King’s passion.

Built on more than 8 hectares, this garen was a ground of experiment for the director of the royal gardens and a place for king Louis XIV's walks. It is the head office of the graduate school of the Landscape today.

This jam can be enjoyed with an afternoon snack, at breakfast, with yoghurt, or a tarte tatin.
