A royal rhinoceros!

Louis XV's rhinoceros has slipped into a fabric sleeve surmounted by black lace. The gold-plated necklace comprises a thin chain with a pendant of the rhinoceros and a rose evoking the Trianon gardens. The earrings are also available in the gift shop.

In 1770 the Court of Versailles rushed to the Royal Menagerie to see an odd-looking creature. The beast that a ship had brought from India to Versailles was a rhinoceros.
