This hairband made from bronzed metal is covered with gilt fabric. Three resin roses with gold spangles and incrusted Swarovski crystals decorate the sides of this piece of hair jewellery. All the parts of this hairband are made and assembled by hand, making it unique.

This type of hair ornament is found very often in the portraits of women from the 17th and 18th centuries in the collections of the Palace of Versailles. Floral decorations, mostly based on roses, can be seen notably in the portrait of Charlotte-Louise de Rohan-Guéménée painted by Jean-Marc Nattier in 1738.
