The "loupiotte" consists of a small lampshade, three small metal legs with gilt ends, a socket and a switch. It is delivered without a bulb. 4 different decorative designs are available: medallion with portrait (called the "eye"), medallion of Marie-Antoinette (called "Toinette"), scarab beetle sketch (called "Barnabé") or sketch of butterflies (called "kraft").

The term "loupiotte" is a familiar word for a lamp. These have designs inspired by engravings of the 18th century.
