Small Cushion "Tapisserie Marie-Antoinette"

32,00

This small cushion was created from a detail of Marie Antoinette's headboard.

The floral motif was inspired by an embroidery project for the Queen's quilt (bedspread). In 1786, when Marie-Antoinette wished to renew the summer furniture, i.e. the textile decoration of her great room, the Garde-Meuble called upon the Lyon embroiderer and painter Jean-François Bony to make the embroideries for the bed and the seats, which had to harmonize with the new wall hanging.

This cushion is part of the collection "Tapestry Marie-Antoinette" available on the online shop. It is declined in several products that reproduce the design of the quilt, the only original element that survived the Revolution.
