This square tapestry cushion is inspired by a detail from Marie-Antoinette’s headboard.

In the 17th century, official apartments had summer and winter decorations. Twice a year, fabrics were removed and replaced. In winter, the walls are lined with velvet, and in summer with lighter fabrics. This alternation allows the precious fabrics to be maintained and preserved.

The “ Marie-Antoinette Tapestry ” collection, of which this cushion is a part, is available in a range of products that reproduce the design of the quilt, the only original element to survive the Revolution.
